A dental bridge is a technique used to replace a missing tooth. Unlike dental implants, a dental bridge requires no actual surgical procedure. A dental bridge can be an affordable and realistic looking way to replace a missing tooth.
Dental Bridge Procedure
To place a dental bridge, the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth are prepared for crowns. The crowns are then prepared with a false tooth connecting them in the middle. When the crowns are placed on the adjacent teeth, the false tooth is suspended in place where the missing tooth once was, creating the illusion of an actual tooth. This technique is particularly useful if either of the adjacent teeth are in need of a crown anyway.
