TOOTH COLORED FILLINGS
Composite is a tooth-colored filling material that is used to repair decayed, chipped, or cracked teeth. The tooth colored composite material helps to strengthen and reinforce the tooth by bonding directly to the existing tooth using adhesive dentistry. These tooth colored fillings are natural looking, so no one will be able to tell that your tooth has been restored. Tooth colored composite fillings can be used to fill small to medium sized cavities in the poterior teeth.
Dr. Hurley is a mercury-free practice, so she does not utilize the amalgram fillings, which are made from silver-mercury. Amalgram fillings are more clearly visible to others when talking, in addition to having questionable safety due to the mercury content. The modern technique of using tooth colored fillings allows your dentist to leave more of your real tooth structure intact as compared with amalgram fillings.
